MEET NICK

Nick Avalos has devoted most of his life to the art of Muay Thai. As a former UFC coach to future Hall of Famer Jim Miller, he brings an authentic style of training that has earned him respect throughout the New Jersey Muay Thai community. Over the years, he has coached and inspired hundreds of students, helping them grow as fighters and as people.

His journey began at the legendary AMA Fight Club under Tony Valera and Kru Kaensak Sor Plonjite. That foundation led him to work alongside some of the sport’s biggest names, including UFC veterans Jim Miller, Dan Miller, Ricardo Romero, Jamie Varner, Charlie Brennman, and Amanda Nunes.

Nick has trained in Thailand with top trainers, bringing back proven techniques and fresh insights that continue to shape the way he teaches. His focus has always been on personal growth—sharpening skills, and building discipline, in and out of the gym.
A medical issue cut Nick’s fighting career short, but his passion for Muay Thai never faded. He continues to put his energy into every class, helping students see that Muay Thai is about more than just fighting. It builds resilience, confidence, and supports mental well-being. Nick is proof that setbacks can spark greater purpose. His mission is to share that passion and pass on the discipline, strength, and love for Muay Thai that has fueled him for most of his life.
